Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 April 2026
squalls.app ("the App") is a free weather application for Bermuda. We do not ask for your name, require an account, or run advertising. This policy explains the limited data the App collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- Analytics (web only): aggregate visit counts and performance metrics via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking.
- Push notification device token (iOS app, only if you enable "Warnings"): a unique identifier issued by Apple's Push Notification Service so we can send you a notification when a new Bermuda Weather Service marine warning is published. The token does not identify you personally and is stored on our server (Supabase) until you disable Warnings, at which point we delete it.
- Feedback form submissions: if you use the footer feedback form, your email address and message are sent to our support inbox via Resend. We use these only to reply to you.
- Anonymous server logs: our backend logs the IP address of API requests short-term for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. These logs are not linked to any identity and rotate out automatically.
Device storage
The App stores your unit preferences, a recent weather snapshot for offline use, and cached map / radar tiles locally on your device. None of this leaves your device. Clear it any time by clearing your browser data (web) or deleting the App (iOS).
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with the effective date updated.
